This is it! Having passed your theory and hazard perception tests and completed your training to the required standard, Sandy Currie Driving Tuition will assist you to apply for the practical test, ensuring you are ready through mock tests and final preparation. There will normally be a 'warm up' lesson approximately an hour before your actual test enabling you to have that final practice to relieve the nerves. We will arrive at the test centre about 10 minutes before the test time and relax.
The test lasts for approximately 40 mins. The DSA Examiner will ask you to sign a declaration that the test car is suitably insured and your licence will be checked.
You will then be required to read a car registration plate from about 20 metres away and on successfully doing so will then be asked to answer two basic maintenance questions.
Under the supervision/direction of the DSA examiner you will be required to demonstrate safe driving in a variety of road and traffic conditions, performing two reverse manoeuvres and possibly an emergency stop. During the test you must not exceed 15 driving faults or commit a serious or dangerous fault. On successful completion of the test the Examiner will award you with a pass certificate which can then be exchanged for a FULL LICENCE.
